The Da Vinci code for India

There are things in life , which we often take for granted. One such thing is religion………
Recently i read the book The Da Vinci code by Dan Brown ( Infact i read it twice) which really shakes the belives of christianity. The author says and beleives that the facts in the book are true. Sceptics/Experts across the world feel the chances of it being true is very small BUT what if it is true
This makes me think about our religion. Agreed i am not a religious guy but to think that we have been following some thing ( principles, faiths etc etc ) which are based on myths makes me think twice before continuing it in furture.

The book does not say that jesus did not exist but it says he was an ordinary man ( by ordinary i mean he dd not have any supernatural powers). As time passed many people wrote about him differently and some people in High power interpreted him as some one he was not for their own selfish reasons.

This could be true with out mythologies also Its possible that Ram , Krisha were just ordinary people with courage and good leadership skills ( they would have become good Project managers if they were born in this century). There were no video cameras or digi cams to capture them in action. For a long time their stories were passed on from one generation to another in form of stories before they were hardcodes. Now we know it very weel how good we indians are in passing on stories (making a hill out of an ant hole).

The stories of Todays great heroes/villians ( gandhi, Hitler, Nelson mandela ) have been harcoded at the same time so there is a faint chance that the would be considered gods many many centuries from now.

My assumption on our religion may not be true but just imagine if it was………….
I feel life would have beenmuch better……..
One example would be that Aydhya would not have been a Major national issue.
Also The crores and crores of rupees spent on building & maintaining temples across India could have been saved and used for maybe building some flyovers in bangalore………

In china more than 60 % of the people dont follow any religion, probably it is one of the reasons they are developing much fater than us ( considering they also have a population problem like us)……..

Excellent review… I do agree with you… There might be some kind of a supernatural power over the humans, but it is definitely not Rama, Krishna, etc. It is the mother nature … it can be a theory behind complicated scientific evaluation that still controlls us … or it can be a force that leads us… but I am not with idol worship, and I firmly believe that the stories of our hindu gods, as u said, are just created or exaggerated …..
