How it began ? !

One fine day all were sitting at auntie’s restaurant and having lunch, when out of the blue came the topic of cheap laptops in Shanghai. Someone then mentioned that one chinki had bought a second hand laptops for as low as 3000 RMB (i.e Rs 15,000 ). This created a lot of interest and debate as in India even a second hand laptop costs 30 K !!
This topic generated a lot of arguments and a lengthy discussion and it looked like one of the random discussion, which these guys always have during lunchtime.

But wait this was no time pass discussion after all. The discussion made an impact on two guys this brings us to the heroes of our story Shreenath (Pande) and Karthik. They kept thinking about this even after going to their seats. Karthik then asked his chinki friend about the second hand laptop market and got the address. He then immediately called Pande and told him about it. Both Karthik and Pande were not really sure whether they wanted a laptop or not but decided to give it a try. They went to the laptop market directly from office and what they saw their changed their life for ever !!!

The cheap Laptop. . .

They were going to the laptop market and the surrounding area looked somewhat like SP road in Bangalore. They were wondering if they are going to get looted by some chinki mafia in such a shady place. KK who also had no work had volunteered to join Pande and Karthik in the mission second hand laptop. At last the taxi stopped and the he pointed towards a building. The basement of the building was the laptop market.

When our heroes went inside they saw laptops everywhere, the shops there had dell, IBM, Sony, Compaq, HP and so on.
“ Pande was attracted by Dell because of its small size and Karthik was attracted to Compaq because of its cheap price “.

The price of laptops was just right, but somehow Pande and Karthik did not like any laptop. They must have seen around 100 laptops but did not like a single one. The reason was that there was something missing in the laptops!!! They could not figure out what was missing, but something was missing in all of them!!!! They left the market disappointed, they had come here for cheap laptops and for sure cheap laptops were available but somehow they could not buy one. There was a big question mark still hanging in front of them???

Rejected they came home and started talking about it !! They thought they would discuss about it for 1 or 2 days then go to the laptop market again with money and buy one laptop. But poor guys had no idea what difficulties lay in front of them!!!

The visit to IT mall . . .

Soon Pande and Karthik realized that there was something missing in the laptops they saw at the second hand market and to find this they went to the IT mall to see new laptops and their price. Along with them came rajendra, saumil and nitin. The moment they entered IT mall they started looking for laptops in their price range…. They could not find any laptop in their price range, However found two laptops close to their price range, One was a lenovo laptop and other was an Acer laptop. Our heroes took all the pamphlets and came home to do research!!! They also found out what was missing in the laptops at second hand market, they found why the second hand market could not attract them, They were destined to buy new laptops and not some scratched old one. Pande went to many websites to find dell laptops but could not really find one which will serve him well. So they decided to take the help of chinki colleagues to help them find a laptop !! The chinki colleagues did help but all they had was bad news. None of the laptops had international warranty. So it was a big risk which they had to take while buying a laptop!!! they decided to go another IT mall and then another one !!! But in the end they had only 3 options, lenovo, acer and dell. Out of these Karthik was attracted the lenovo for its fire wire capabilities and card reader. Pande was still interested in dell!! So they kept on visiting IT malls and doing hours and hours of research in the net about laptops!!!

The D day . . .

Pande and Karthik were going crazy and seeing this others were also going crazy, something had to be done otherwise it could have affected the mental stability of our heroes… It was a tough decision but they did take it, they decided that they would buy lenovo and take the risk with warranty…………..
Rajendra agreed to accompany them for the final showdown!!

They took a taxi from office and reached IT mall. When they entered the IT mall , Something happened, It was some kind of magic( some supernatural power ) which took them to HP showroom, It was like they were destined to go there! there they saw two Hp laptops, one with AMD processor and other with Intel processor !!! They looked at the AMD processor laptop and were attracted towards it, they thought this was a good deal as it also came with an international warranty!!! They moved on to another HP showroom and again saw the HP beauties!!!! The HP Intel laptop was way out of their budget so they did not think about it much and were concentrating on AMD laptop!!! They would have bought it but they heard someone calling… It was the lenovo beauty calling them!! They went to the lenovo showroom. There Pande used all his techniques to make the guy say that lenovo has international warranty, but the guy did not budge!!! Pande was trying his best; all he wanted was one word from that guy’s mouth that lenovo has international warranty!!! But the guy was very stubborn!!! Maybe he saw HP written on Pande’s and Karthik’s forehead!!!

Disappointed they went to HP showroom and asked the shop owner which one he thinks is the best of the two laptops!!! The Guy gave a list of advantages for the Intel laptop.

Our heroes were passing through a very difficult stage now!! they had to decide between better features and 1000 RMB. Karthik played it very safe and asked Pande to make the decision, also being elder than Karthik, It was pandes responsibility to make the decision. After much thought and advice from rajendra, Pande did make the decision and they bought the HP Pavilion DV 1381 TU model Which cost them 6900 RMB with some small goodies like bag, web cam, headphone etc. They then got windows and other stuff installed and paid the shop keeper the money and went home.
Our heroes and their friends lived happily ever after.
