After doing series of Test Drives of Hatchbacks (Punto, Figo, Polo, Swift, Vista etc), have finally booked Ford Figo (Titanium,Diesel).

Yes, it was close call between likes of Fiat’s and Ford’s and my decision to go with Ford Figo was for the features/comfort/space it is offering for that price.

Now, below are the points which I have liked and has decided to go for Figo. No offense to other car owners, as many of the observations are subjective.

1. VFM. For 7Lack(On the road price Bangalore) you will get most of the features we can expect in a decent Hatchback.
2. Decent look. Not to compare gorgeous look of Punto.
3. Decent in-class audio system (compared to most Hatches) with handy features like Bluetooth option. As complementary, I am also getting reverse parking sensor
4. Interiors are also very decent. This is one area where I have not really considered Maruthi and TATA hatches. Ofcourse, main advantage for Maruthi has been their Service centers and cost of maintenance.
5. Best in-class boot space and leg space (rear). This is one parameter for which Figo is being considered by Hatch buyers.
6. Almost nill Turbo Lag. Ofcource, 1.4 TDCi engine is not that powerful compared to the one available in Punto/Swift/Vista Multi Jet but you will definitely love the linear torque which will give you a fun to drive experience in CITY bumper_to_bumper traffic where we spend most of our driving life.

I have been looking out for a smart phone(economical one!) with the features available in WAVE2 on Android. But none of them having all the features. Looks like, hand set companies have intentionally done this in order to make all of their models marketable ?

Anyway, finally bought Samsung galaxy S I-9000 , which has most of the my required features. But one thing which I am not still able to digest is the missing LED flash and a dedicated camera button. How difficult/costly to put a FALSH LED and a manual camera shutter button !?!?

As part of Sankranti festival, we had small celebration where in children and infants are showered with fruits. Diyva enjoyed it.
Also, exchanged sweets with all saying “Take sweets and talk sweet”

We had been to Mysore for a wedding ceremony. As always, had lunch at Kamat lokruchi, stopped at Chennapattana and visited(again) Sriranga pattana temple. Horse riding with Divya was a memorable one. First time, while sitting with her mom, she was bit scared. But for the 2nd time riding along with me, she was quite OK.

Due to year end and Christmas holidays, it was houseful in Mysore. All lodges going full and we had to get in in to some cheap lodge paying heavy price

At last . . . traveled on Hosur road flyover !
Really it was like, dream come true, atleast for those who have been traveling on hosur road from past 5+ years or so. Should say, man it took ages anyway better late than never, right
I was going to Habbal from Ecity, so initially thought of going via jail road(aka hosa road),outer ring road but last moment decided to take hosur flyover. No toll charge was being collected and heard will continue to be toll free for some more days. I would definitely suggest all of you traveling near by to have a test drive on this. You can’t believe, it just took around 7 min from EC main entrance till silk board junction. Might be because, it’s was night time but I think, on an average one can easily clock 80kmph.
Just to mention, off late it was not really that horrible traffic on hosur road. Thanks to NICE corridor connecting Hosur road and Tumkur road. So I guess, many people still don’t mind traveling on the hosur road considering the proposed toll charges. I heard, plan is to collect around Rs.10 for two-wheelers, Rs.30 for four-wheelers. Looks like bit expensive, atleast for daily travelers.

Sitting idle inside hospital, I have tried to change baby’s hair style… he he, is it Ghazni look alike

Currently, we are in Kochi for some training. It’s hard to explain but I should say, Kerala is the place one should visit in his lifetime.When u look outside from the train window while entering the kerala boarder, you will feel the difference.Typical overcast condition with all sides looking green. Drizzling for some time and again sunshine,these are just few key points which I noticed.
But wait a moment, it’s been a week and we already started feeling the pinch. condition is hot and humid.It’s really uncomfortable for the people who are not used to this kind of weather. We are into a long weekend(being Monday holiday).
On Saturday evening, we had been to MG Road and had a heavy diner at Woodlands’s Rangoli
And, yesterday, we had been to 3.5hr boat journey which just covers some typical tourist spots like dutch pallace etc. The trip was OK kind of. Posting some snaps.

Probably, this has to be the longest trip inside Karnataka and indeed a memorable one. Whole trip was completely unplanned and free style
Only thing which we had in our mind is, to spend some time in and around Udapi-Mangalore.

Recently we had been to a place called Yercaud, popularly known hill station near Salem, Tamil Nadu. Initially, the plan was to visit Hogenakkal falls and drive back to B’lore. But then, after finishing the regular tasks at Hogenakkal, the majority is of the opinion, to visit some other places near by. Since it was the long weekend, so all agreed. We checked with one of our Tamilnadu friend, he suggested a Hill station “Yercaud”

It’s been a while, I did not update this BLOG due to so and so reasons
Yes, sort of hibernation after I returned to Bangalore in December.
Now, me again, back to Shanghai. Though, it’s for a very short time. From today i.e 1st May to 3rd May, it’s holiday time in CHINA. No plans as of now. I am waiting for my return tickets, will be flying back to Bangalore this weekend.

I forgot to write something about Diwali which we somehow tried to celebrate in Shanghai, faaaaaaaaaaaar away from our families
This is infact my 3rd Diwali in Shanghai and it was indeed happening.
At first, attended Pooja at Mr. Ramapathi’s place. Then we went on to tryout some crackers. We thought of firing the crackers on Zhong Hua Xin Road. There is a big footpath which we targeted. To be safe, we did check with Shanghai traffic police regarding this. They said, we may fire crackers after they leave from that place. They did not want us to fire crackers when they are on duty
Anyway, at 10PM they left and then we fired lots of crackers… It was real fun
