Probably, this has to be the longest trip inside Karnataka and indeed a memorable one. Whole trip was completely unplanned and free style ![]()
Only thing which we had in our mind is, to spend some time in and around Udapi-Mangalore.
Recently we had been to a place called Yercaud, popularly known hill station near Salem, Tamil Nadu. Initially, the plan was to visit Hogenakkal falls and drive back to B’lore. But then, after finishing the regular tasks at Hogenakkal, the majority is of the opinion, to visit some other places near by. Since it was the long weekend, so all agreed. We checked with one of our Tamilnadu friend, he suggested a Hill station “Yercaud”
I forgot to write something about Diwali which we somehow tried to celebrate in Shanghai, faaaaaaaaaaaar away from our families ![]()
This is infact my 3rd Diwali in Shanghai and it was indeed happening.
At first, attended Pooja at Mr. Ramapathi’s place. Then we went on to tryout some crackers. We thought of firing the crackers on Zhong Hua Xin Road. There is a big footpath which we targeted. To be safe, we did check with Shanghai traffic police regarding this. They said, we may fire crackers after they leave from that place. They did not want us to fire crackers when they are on duty ![]()
Anyway, at 10PM they left and then we fired lots of crackers… It was real fun ![]()
Check these snaps . . .
Today we had gone to a sort of themed park “Shanghai Oriental Green Boat“.
The plan was to leave the hotel by 7 AM. But as usual some time spent in coordinating among 16 people(?). (more…)
Gowri-Ganesha Habbada shubhashayagalu ![]()
So in the weekend outing, all celebrated Ganesha Festival in an Indian restaurant ‘Mumbai Darbar’ by having a dinner.
Here posting some snaps….
It went exactly according the plan. And it was really a good decision to visit Madumalai. All along, we did get chance to see some wild Elephants, bison etc.
After 6 months of planning, finally we did it !
Trip to Hangzhou ![]()
Yes, we have been planning for this from past 6 months or so.
Hangzhou, well, is not a new kind of place. Atleast for those who have been to places like Kodaikanal, Madikeri, Munnar etc. Anyway, from the cement forest(Shanghai), it will be nice to visit this kind of place once in a while. Thanks to my Chinese colleague (Liu Lei). She helped us to book a Buick(which can hold upto 10 people) and also became our tour guide.
Hangzhou is about 180KM from Shanghai (i.e. around 2.5 hrs of journey).
All an all a nice trip and a good start to 1 Week Labor Day holiday.
Last weekend, we went to Haveri, a city(!) in North Karnatak,INDIA where I have studied my primary, high school and also PU college.
Some more, Uttara Karnataka memories…
It’s not just fun it’s WonderLa ![]()
Around, 30 KM from Bangalore (on the way to Mysore, very near to a place called Bidadi), a new amusement park with lots of fun-filled items. It’s really a great weekender, please check it out yourself. Here are some snaps…
